We’ve put together a list of seven white bedroom ideas, including how to accessorise and considerations when making larger purchases.

The bedroom should represent a quiet retreat where you can surround yourself with all the things you need to relax. That’s why choosing the right décor is essential when designing your bedroom and what you have in it. Knowing where to start is often half the battle when designing a room, and if you’ve chosen white as your desired colour scheme it’s even more difficult to know what shades to use and how white to go; whether it’s everything or the just the furniture itself.

1. Warm whites and ivory layers

Prevent your white bedroom ideas from feeling cold and stark by introducing alternate shades of white and ivory. By softening the striking appearance of the brightest whites, you’ll create a cosier atmosphere that’s inviting as well as fresh.

2. Touches of colour go a long way

Having a white bedroom doesn’t mean you can’t use colour. In fact, white can help colours to “pop” and catch the eye, which brings new dimensions to interiors while creating a fun feel – ideal for kids’ bedrooms and quick refreshes in the master bedroom.

3. Opt for a full-length mirror

Using standing mirrors will quickly open up small, all-white bedrooms if the space looks a little too cosy or cluttered. Mirrors are great in any room, and they create the illusion of small spaces looking larger than they are, as well as brighter.

4. Striped bedding and textured pillows

One of the common issues with all-white settings is that they can look a bit bare. You may love white walls, furniture, and everything that goes with it, but a bedroom’s main function is to be cosy. One of the ways to achieve an in between is to add textures, both visually and on a more fundamental level.

Striped bedding: we recommend trying out striped or patterned bedding. This sort of look can cut through the white space and anchor the room; the key is to create a contrast that has enough neutrality to be cohesive.

Textures: the easiest way to add texture to your bedroom is through the bedding itself. Pillows, throws and duvet covers will bring a wealth of materials to the table – or bed in this case – which means you’ll have something visually appealing and layered, too.

5. Add the leather look

If you have a large white space to play with then think about adding leather. Leather has a vintage appeal that can add character to the room, which will look visually stunning while also serving a purpose in multi-functional spaces.

6. Upholstered headboard

Another texture tip: upholstered headboards work brilliantly with white bedrooms. Try choosing a neutral tone to give your bed a more inviting look.

7. Minimal furniture

What draws many to the all-white trend is the minimalist theme that keeps things looking clean and crisp. A stripped back appearance is even more important if the room is a bit smaller, as this will retain an open air that’s essential for the freshness of white to work.

Side note: that doesn’t mean you should deter from adding textures to your setup. Send us pictures of your white bedroom here.
