Generally, caring for rugs is pretty simple (vacuum one a week and rotate regularly); however, some materials require a little more care. This short guide will include information and tips on taking care of your rugs.

Materials

Our rugs are usually made of either four materials; polypropylene, wool, polyester or jute. The materials used to manufacture our rugs are always included in our product description, however if you are unsure please get in touch with us.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene and wool are our most commonly used materials. Polypropylene is very popular among families due to its hard-wearing and easy-cleaning properties. Man-made fibres, such as polypropylene rugs, should be vacuumed with a nozzle attachment to avoid damaging the pile of the rug. Affordable, stylish, and non-shedding, our range of polypropylene rugs includes Isla, Kendra, Monaco, Portland, and Serene.

Wool

Our collection of wool rugs is handmade all over the world. Wool rugs are long-lasting, excellent insulators, and retain their authenticity over time. Slightly more attention is required when caring for wool rugs. They commonly go through a  shedding’ period; this is when the fibres come away from the rug and can last up to 16 weeks. The same care is required as for the polypropylene rugs; however, we recommend that spillages be attended to immediately to avoid any damage. Our wool rugs include Carter, Colours, Contours, Hampton, Lexus, and Milano.

Polyester

Similar to polypropylene, polyester is often used for shaggy, sheeny rugs. Easy to clean and super soft to touch, polyester is often mixed with other materials for extra resistance. Polyester rugs should be vacuumed with a nozzle attachment to avoid damaging the pile of the rug. Non-shedding and stain-resistant, our selection of polyester rugs includes Mojave, Sarouk, and Tribal.

Jute

Much less commonly used, jute rugs are made from eco-friendly plant fibres for a natural and authentic aesthetic. Highly versatile and long-lasting, jute rugs are easy to clean with a brush or vacuum, ideally with a nozzle attachment. Our natural ranges, Lagos and Zarla, are beautifully woven in jute.
