General Terms & Conditions

These terms & conditions will apply to all transactions placed online or by telephone with Collingwood Batchellor Ltd. Please read carefully before placing any order. All contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms and conditions will be deemed to affect your statutory rights.

Orders

We are pleased to accept orders by any of the following methods. Online transaction via secure server or by telephone. All credit / debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and are authorised by the card issuer. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Switch, Maestro and Solo. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay and / or non-delivery of your order. No orders will be accepted or processed without a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder.

The web price is inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate.


Small Item Delivery

The delivery charge of small items, such as linens, is calculated based on the weight of your order.

Delivery times vary from product to product and is clearly marked on each product page. Please note the expected delivery date quoted at the time of your order is based on the current information available. Whilst we always make every effort to honour this date, it is an estimate only.

Delivery is dispatched by one of our trusted carriers. Any claim regarding shortages or damaged merchandise must be advised within a reasonable period by phoning 01293 782404 or emailing [email protected].


Furniture Delivery

Please note the expected delivery date quoted at the time of your order is based on the current information available. Whilst we always make every effort to honour this date, it is an estimate only. We cannot accept claims for compensation resulting from overdue orders outside of our control.

Furniture is delivered free within Surrey & Sussex area on designated days, except for items under £499 which will be chargeable at a rate of £45 per delivery.

Furniture delivery within England & Wales but outside of Surrey & Sussex will be charged at £75, we can deliver to parts of Scotland but are currently unable to deliver to Northern Ireland.

Once your goods are available we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient delivery date.

Our Surrey & Sussex delivery service, unless stated otherwise, will be delivered on our own vans meaning we can offer a morning or afternoon delivery, however, specifically timed deliveries are subject to availability and additional cost.

Our Nationwide delivery service is carried out by a team of experienced, professional and courteous drivers.

If you find you are unable to accept a delivery on an arranged day, notification is required at least one day prior. If you fail to cancel a delivery and subsequently we are unable to supply your order at the arranged time, a redelivery charge will become applicable.

Please note it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that it is practical to deliver to the desired location.

Any claim regarding shortages or damaged merchandise must be advised to the driver at the time or within a reasonable period by phoning 01293 782404 or emailing [email protected]. Damage caused to your property during delivery must be notified to the driver before he leaves your premises.

We can hold your goods in our warehouse for 28 days from the date of their receipt provided they have been paid for in full. Thereafter a weekly storage charge will apply.


Cancellation Right

Under the Distance Selling Regulations (which applies to goods bought online or via telephone), UK consumers have the legal right to cancel their order within 14 days of receipt of the goods. Where goods are delivered to a third party you will only be able to exercise this right if you are able to return to us the goods you ordered. For details of how to exercise this right please see our Returns and Exchange section.

Bespoke, handmade items, that are made to your specifications, such as sofas and armchairs, are not included in the above return policy. We cannot accept returns for these items unless faulty, so please carefully consider your choice before making a purchase.


Returns and Exchanges

We want you to be entirely satisfied with every purchase made from Collingwood Batchellor and are proud of the quality, range and advice that we offer. If you wish to return an item for exchange or you have decided not to keep it (cancel your contract), please contact us within 14 days from the day after the delivery day, put your request in writing to Collingwood Batchellor, 46-48 Victoria Road, Horley, Surrey, RH6 7QE or via email to [email protected].

Goods must be returned within 30 days of receipt in a new, unused condition, where a collection is required this will be at your own cost.

Bespoke, handmade items, that are made to your specifications, such as sofas and armchairs, are not included in the above return policy. We cannot accept returns for these items unless faulty, so please carefully consider your choice before making a purchase.


Products, Prices & Content

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the pictures and colours depicted on the site match as closely as possible those of the actual product due to technical limitations, some colours may vary.

All prices are shown in pound sterling (£) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate unless clearly stated.

Prices, product descriptions and specifications are checked to the best of our ability, and whilst every effort has been made to make them accurate, no responsibility will be accepted for errors and omissions.

Any information displayed on our website or other printed matter by the company is not regarded to be authoritative or certified as the best practice and is only considered to be useful supplementary advice to other certified codes of practice. All information on our website is updated regularly.

We reserve the right to alter our prices and specifications without notice.


Ownership of Goods

All items supplied to the customer remain the property of Collingwood Batchellor Ltd until final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.
